Statement about HUAWEI HiLives and Privacy

HUAWEI HiLives is an app jointly developed by Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huawei", "we", "us", or "our") and a number of certified third-party service providers that provides you with a wide range of life services such as food, housing, and transportation. Huawei takes your personal information and privacy seriously, and is committed to taking appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in accordance with relevant laws and established industry security standards.

To enhance your user experience while using the wealth of services provided by our partners, your HUAWEI ID information (including profile picture and nickname) may be shared with them so that you can view your orders and other relevant information within the app.

We may also recommend products or services that may be of interest to you based on your device identifier, device model, carrier information, basic app information, gender, and location.


1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

Providing you with a wealth of life services

HUAWEI HiLives gathers all the life services you will ever need all in one place, including mobile top-up, hotels, discounted flight tickets, and train tickets booking, taxi hailing, housework services, travel guides, second-hand goods, as well as a wide range of global products. The app enables you to browse, search, and purchase exactly what you need.

You can also quickly find the service you need by entering keywords in the search bar on the home screen of HUAWEI HiLives or HUAWEI Assistant (services available may vary with the version of Assistant).

For services provided by our partners, we will only share your HUAWEI ID's profile picture and nickname, as well as your keyword inputs with the applicable service provider so that you can view your orders and other relevant information for each service within the app after logging in using your HUAWEI ID. For risk control purposes and to provide you with a better service experience, your device identifier may be anonymized and sent to service providers (such as Meituan).

At the same time, we require our partners to protect your personal information through commercial contracts, and provide their privacy policies, in order to ensure that their privacy protection measures are transparent and risks are controllable. Please carefully read the privacy policies of each service prior to use.

For example, the location services are provided by Baidu, which may collect your personal information. In addition, when you use the taxi hailing services, DiDi may collect your personal information. For details about how these third parties protect your personal information, please read their corresponding privacy policies.


Code-scanning logistics inquiry

You can also track your delivery through HUAWEI HiLives, including the package information and the delivery progress. For this, we need to obtain your express delivery number and send it to the applicable third-party logistics service provider.


2. Personalized Recommendations

We may recommend products or services that may be of interest to you based on your device identifier, device model, carrier information, basic app information, gender, and location. However, you can stop receiving personalized recommendations by going to HUAWEI HiLives > Me > Settings, and disabling Notifications (or Receive notifications for new messages for EMUI 10.0.1 or earlier).


3. Child Protection

This app is for adult use only. If you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian must agree to your use of this app, and agree to the applicable terms and conditions. Parents and legal guardians should also take appropriate precautions to protect minors, including monitoring their use of this app.


4. Managing Your Data

Your data can be easily managed in settings.

You can go to HUAWEI HiLives > Me > My orders to view your purchase records, or go to HUAWEI HiLives > Top up center > Me > My orders to view your top-up records.

You can go to HUAWEI HiLives > Me > Help > Feedback, touch the icon in the upper right corner and go to the Feedback history screen to view your feedbacks.

You can disable the Location, Camera, Storage, Phone, and other permissions for HUAWEI HiLives under the system Settings (specific paths may vary with operating system version).

5. Data Storage Location and Retention Period

5.1 Data storage location

The personal information collected and generated by this app will be sent to and stored on servers in the People's Republic of China.

5.2 Data retention period

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Statement, and delete or anonymize your personal information beyond the time set out below, except as otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations.

Your HUAWEI ID information will be deleted after you delete your account.

Your order information will be retained for seven (7) years.

Your feedbacks and other relevant information (contact information, submitted images, and feedback content) will be retained for three (3) months; logs will be retained for seven (7) days.

Your device information (device identifier, device model), location information, logistics information, and keyword inputs will not be retained.

For details about the retention period of your personal information sent to a third-party service provider, refer to applicable privacy policies.

In the event that we discontinue our products or services, we will notify you in the form of a push notification, announcement, or other means, and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period of time.

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, especially if you feel that our processing or handling of your personal information has violated or infringed on your legal rights and/or interests, you may seek external resolution, whether by filing a lawsuit with the people's court in the relevant jurisdiction, submitting a complaint to the industry self-regulation association or relevant government regulatory agencies, or by other means.
